This
is an urgent request for your continued financial support (tax
deductible). As was explained in the Negotiated Settlement agreement
with Cottage Advisors which can be read on this website, a full hearing
represented many thousands of dollars over the cost of the Motion to
Dismiss, which Friends of East Lake (FOEL) won decisively. Despite the
decision not to go to a full hearing, and despite a large number of
generous donations, much more is still owed.
We have
worked hard to establish a Community Partnership with Environmental
Defence (ED), so that charitable donations to FOEL and our OMB appeal
that are made through ED will now be eligible for tax receipts. ED has
joined our fight because of their concerns about the need for better
environmental safeguards in planning policies in all of Prince Edward
County, and the recognition that East Lake is only an example of what

future.
